10” TAIL Model

Board Description:

Foam and wood composite. This board has the feeling of a Classic Balsa or Log without excess weight. We finely tune the weight of each board to the rider, and match the total weight (rider+board+fin) with the weight suited for his or her desired style of surfing.

Note: When the weight of the board is centered in the middle at the stringer the board reacts much more lively than heavily glassed longboards. The result is quicker recovery from turns and an increased rail to rail turning ability overall! This unique feeling of “Bounce-back” is something that is very noticeable in both the 8” TAIL model and the 10″ TAIL models.

50/50 to 60/40 rails from nose to tail. Low rocker entry. Signature nose concave (comes either blended or “kinked”). After the nose concave the bottom has a slight roll toward the rails, and then breaksaway to a rolled V bottom tail. The tail rocker is more pronounced at the last portion of the tail, but fairly low throughout. This makes for incredible noserides that keep you locked into the power part wave. Each 10” TAIL model comes standard with 3”- 6” custom tailblocks made unique for each individual board and each unique rider. Each tailblock uses custom resin color and exotic soft and hardwoods from throughout the Hawaiian islands, such as Koa, Mango, Williwilli, Ohia, Kukui, Breadfruit and Coconut to name a few… These models carry our signature custom stringers from 2 inches to 5 inches wide depending on the weight required for each board.

The 10” TAIL model comes standard with our custom signature Arclight Wood Fin paired to match the tailblock and stringer work. Available in glass-on (preferred) or 10” finbox.

What to expect from this board?

Clean fluid lines while turning and making cutbacks, with plenty of trim speed for turning and noseriding. Great board to practice your footwork on. Very stable and a very fast paddler with momentum to carry you through sections of whitewater. A classic longboard that you will have in your quiver for a very long time…

Skill level:

advanced Beginner to pro

Wave height recommendation:

ankle to head high days, with slight textured surface. This is the Longboard that makes small days fun again!

Kingfisher Performance Longboard

Board description:

The Kingfisher Performance Longboard – is designed for the person who wants a trusty fun longboard that will allow them to go on any wave knee high to overhead+. The Kingfisher combines the best of both worlds- a performance nose rocker to minimize pearling with a penetrating nose outline perfect for punching through outside sets and incoming whitewater. The nose features a blended single concave that runs through to the middle of the board, blending into a double barrel V bottom just before the front side fins. This board comes standard as a 2+1(10” finbox) fin setup, or a QUAD 4+1(10” finbox) fin setup, w/future fins or FCS fin systems.

The Kingfisher rails are turned up at the nose tip and blend to soft egg shape 60/40 rails just forward of the boards widepoint, then blending to a soft downrail past center, and finally ending with a sharp hard rail in the tail. This board paddles fast – and is great for speed and maximum turning ability. A very fun longboard for surfing the widest range of waves possible.

The Kingfisher model comes standard with our custom signature Arclight Single Fin and side fins. Available in wood glass-on or 10” finbox with side plugs.

What to expect from this board?

Great speed, maximum turning abilty, smooth rider in overhead conditions.

Description:

The original model that started it all for us. Classic low entry noserider rocker, for increased time on the nose and trim speed down the line. The nose comes complete with our teardrop concave (edge comes either blended or “kinked”), and 50/50 rail running from nose to midway down the board. The rail transitions midway to 60/40 rails through to the tail. The bottom is flat with a slight roll toward the rails. Then the bottom transitions to a moderate V just before the fin (this V bottom aids turns from the middle and the tail of the board). The tail rocker is moderate with just enough toward the end of the board to aid turning ability and still stay sucked into the most powerful part of the wave.

What you should expect from this board?

Clean lines and sweeping turns, with enough trim speed to keep you engaged throughout your turns and close to the pocket when noseriding. Paddles fast with momentum to carry you through sections of whitewater. Perfect for special occasions (ie. birthdays, weddings, holidays, etc.) Truly a work of art either on the wave, or on the wall of your home or office…

Skill Level:

Intermediate to pro riders who are experienced with riding larger boards such as SUPs, Balsas, or Logs.

Wave height recommendation:

ankle to head high days, with clean breaking lines and slight textured surface. well formed sandbars and long reef breaks are the ticket…

This board is a true blast to the past. Tear drop inspired outline with full body thickness in the chest. Amazing paddling abilty for a shorter board. The added foam thickness in the chest area acts like a gas peddle on a car, step forward for a boost of speed around sections or Soul Arching bottom turns. Step back over the fin and the board will engage and pivot on a dime. Rails are 50/50 in the nose, soft down rail to the sides of the chest area, blending to hard downrails and a razor sharp rounded pintail. Each Ruth model is custom fitted with an Arclight signature Koa Wood glass-on single fin. This is your go-to soul surfing shortboard. The Ruth model will hold into double overhead wave faces with confidence, and add that little something to your style that you lost when you started surfing your retro fish…just joking but could be true.

What to expect from this board?

Clean and stable, sweeping fast lines, and maximum control in and out of turns. She’s quick and pivots on spot.

Board description:

Natural oil protectant or epoxy glassed. These boards are a must have in your quiver. The all wood construction of these surfboards makes them beautiful works of art. The Zinger models are fast and super fun riding either prone (on your belly) or standing tall and straight. The single concave bottom and hard rails allows for fast trim speed and added traction in steeper waves. The deck roll on the top of the board is just enough that water is being channeled off the deck and around your body or your feet (prone or standing), and also moving around the bulk of the board. The board will displace water, plane on top of the water, slice through and stick to the water all at the same time. This happens with subtle changes to rocker, rail contour, wave face, and speed, which are always changing at any given moment on a wave… The key to this boards appeal is the way it compensates through design and flex. An essential board for every quiver.

What to expect from this board?

The board is swam more than paddled, the inside of your arms and chest help guide it through the water, expect big smiles and laughter riding either prone (on your belly) with or standing straightbacked and loose knees. Expect many sessions diciphering the boards dynamic of shape and contour, also expect many years of sharing fun friction free surfing with friends, family, and others. aloha

This is the surfboard board design that started all of the modern surfboard templates to date. Inspired by the original templates used 200 years ago in Hawaii. The Tribute model alaia is made from Hawaiian soft and hardwoods and sustainably grown and harvested exotic softwoods. Order it naturally oiled and protected or epoxy glassed. Ride it, or hang this board in your home or office. Each alaia is one of a kind, and the wood is very rare and very special. A truly rare piece of function, art, and history…
