8″ Tail Model

8″ Tail Model // Single Fin Noserider

Board Description:

The 8” TAIL Model is made of wood and foam composite, and has the added advantage of more nose rocker that the 10” TAIL Model does not have. The additional pulled in tail helps turning, while the rolled V bottom tail helps you turn from the middle of the board and the tail of the board. Like all of our boards, we finely tune the weight of each board to the rider, and match the total weight (rider+board+fin) with the weight needed for his or her desired style of surfing.

Note: When the weight of the board is centered in the middle at the stringer the board reacts much more lively than heavily glassed longboards. The result is quicker recovery from turns and an increased rail to rail turning ability overall! This unique feeling of “Bounce-back” is something that is very noticeable in both the 8” TAIL model and the 10″ TAIL models

50/50 to 60/40 rails from nose to tail. Moderate-low nose rocker. Signature nose concave (edge comes either blended or “kinked”). After the nose concave the bottom has a slight roll toward the rails and breaksaway to a rolled V bottom tail just before the Single fin. The tail rocker is pronounced at the last portion of the tail, but low throughout the entire tail section of the board. This makes for incredible noserides that keep you locked into the power part of the wave. Each 8” TAIL model comes standard with 3”- 6” custom tailblocks made unique for each individual board and each unique rider. Each tailblock uses custom resin color and exotic soft and hardwoods from throughout the Hawaiian islands, such as Koa, Mango, Williwilli, Ohia, Kukui, Breadfruit and Coconut to name a few… These models carry our signature custom stringers from 2 inches to 6 inches wide depending on the weight required for each board.

The 8” TAIL model comes standard with our custom signature Arclight Wood Fin paired to match the tailblock and stringer work. Available in glass-on (preferred) or 10” finbox.
